ERMITA DE SAN FROILÁN, VALDORRIA 12/05/2019 SAN FROILÁN CHAPEL, VALDORRIA.

Mayo es un mes excelente para el motociclismo, perfecto para rutas medianas. Alejandra decidió visitar un lugar muy especial en la provincia vecina, pero primero, nos detuvimos en Ujo para ver la iglesia románica.

May is an excellent month for motorcycling, perfect for medium-sized routes. Alejandra decided to visit a very special place in the neighbouring province but first, we pulled over at Ujo to see the Romanesque church.

Esta parte es lo único que queda de la iglesia original del siglo XII. Siempre me sorprende pensar que estas piedras se colocaron hace casi mil años.

This part is the only remain of the original XII century church. It always amazes me to think that these stones were put together almost one thousand years ago.

Para abandonar nuestra provincia escogimos el puerto de San Isidro que se veía majestuoso.

To abandon our province we picked San Isidro Mountain pass which looked wonderful.

Tiempo para escoger un comedor con vistas. El embalse de Porma servirá.

Time to select a dining room with spectacular views. The Porma reservoir would do the trick.

No lejos de allí, se encuentra La Valdorria, donde comienza el sendero que te llevará a la capilla.

No far from there, you find La Valdorria where the trail that will take you to the chapel starts.

 Aunque no es un camino largo, es bastante difícil hacerlo usando ropa de moto. Pero el esfuerzo vale la pena.

Although it isn't a long way it is quite difficult to do wearing motorcycle gear. But the effort is worthwhile.

Ya podemos ver la parte superior de la capilla sobre la roca al final del camino.

Now we can see the top of the chapel up in the rock at the end of the trail.

En la última parte de la caminata, comenzamos a encontrar los tradicionales belenes de cumbres.

In the last section of the walk, we began to come across the traditional Nativity Scenes placed on mountain peaks.

 Y aquí estamos, es hora de contemplar la pequeña capilla y recuperar fuerzas.

And here we are¡ Time to contemplate the small chapel and recover strength.

 Desde aquí podemos ver el camino con el pueblo al fondo.

From here we can see the path and the village in the background.

Es hora de decir adiós y volver a casa. Sin embargo, no fue el final de la diversión. Tenemos un buen montón de kilómetros por delante para disfrutar.

Time to say goodbye and return home. It wasn't the end of the fun for the day though. We have a good bunch of kilometres ahead to enjoy.

PARQUE NATURAL DE PONGA 28/04/2019 PONGA NATURAL PARK

Desde que Slow llegó a nuestras vidas, hemos tratado de hacer que sus salidas en motocicleta sean lo más cómodas posible. Nuestra última idea fue incorporar nueva equipación a la moto. Y parece que le gusta su nuevo vagón de primera clase.

Since Slow came into our lives we have tried to make his motorcycle outings as comfortable as possible. Our latest idea was to incorporate new equipment to our bike. And he seems to like his new first-class carriage.

Para probar el diseño correctamente, planeamos una ruta a través del Parque Natural de Ponga, donde enfrentaríamos todo tipo de carreteras.

In order to test the design properly, we planned a route through the Ponga Natural Park where we would face all kind of roads.

El 17,78% del territorio asturiano está protegido, el porcentaje más alto del país, y existen cinco parques nacionales. Uno de ellos es el Parque Nacional de Ponga y todos los años lo visitamos al menos una vez.

17.78% of the Asturian territory is protected -the highest percentage of the country- and there are five National Parks. One of them is the Ponga National Parks and every year we visit it at least once.

El paisaje es absolutamente impresionante y las carreteras son simplemente increíbles. Un verdadero paraíso para el motociclismo.

The scenery is absolutely stunning and the roads are simply amazing. A true paradise for motorcycling.

Montañas tan altas como Peña Ten, de 2100 m, valles tan bajos como 300 m hacen de este lugar un intrincado paisaje de extrema belleza.

Mountains as high as Peña Ten 2100m, valleys as low as 300m make the place an intricate landscape of extreme beauty.

Puedes sentir la naturaleza en su máxima expresión sin bajar de tu moto, pero siempre es una buena idea dar un paseo en uno de sus muchos miradores, pueblos o áreas recreativas.

You can feel nature at its best without stepping down your bike but it is always a good idea to take a walk in one of its many lookouts, villages or recreative areas.
