BRAÑA DE TUIZA 28/07/2018

El sábado por la mañana estaba lloviendo demasiado y perdimos la esperanza de salir a rodar. Sorprendentemente, después del mediodía, la lluvia se detuvo y nos atrevimos a dar un paseo. Recordé un lugar que teníamos en nuestra lista de deseos, la Braña de Tuiza, y ambos acordamos que sería una buena idea.

Saturday morning was raining too much and we lost hope for a ride. Surprisingly, after noon, the rain stopped and we dare to go for a spin. I remembered a place that we had on our wishlist, the "Braña de Tuiza", and both agreed to go ahead with it.

Una 'Braña' es un lugar donde se lleva al ganado durante el verano. Por lo general, la 'Braña' se encuentra en un lugar elevado donde el pasto permanece verde incluso en los meses más cálidos. Allí, la gente construyó pequeñas casas para quedarse todo el verano cuidando vacas, caballos y cabras. En este, puedes ver edificios de diferentes períodos. Entre ellos, los más impresionantes son los antiguos con el techo de paja.

A "Braña" is a place where the cattle is taken to during the summer. Usually, the "Braña" is located in an elevated place where the pasture remains green even in the warmer months. There, people built small houses to stay in all summer taking care of the cows, horses and goats.
In this one, you can see buildings from different periods. Among them, the more impressive are the old ones with the hay roof.

Actualmente, el lugar todavía se usa para vacas destinadas a la producción de carne. Vagan libremente por las áreas circundantes durante el día y al atardecer, son conducidas a la 'Braña' para protegerlas de los lobos. Esta carne tiene una alta calidad y es muy apreciada.

Nowadays, the place is still used for cows aimed for meat production. They wander freely through the surrounding areas during the day and at sunset, they are herded in the "Braña" to protect them from wolfs. This meat has a high quality and it is very appreciated.

Para finalizar el día nos dirigimos a Somiedo para tomar una taza de café y luego regresamos a casa muy contentos con nuestro paseo de la tarde.

To end the day we headed to Somiedo for a cup of coffee and then we went back home very pleased with our afternoon ride.
