LA TRADICIÓN DEL BELÉN 26/12/2016 THE NATIVITY SCENE TRADITION

Nuestro querido amigo César es un fanático de la Navidad, más que ninguna otra persona que conozca, esa es la razón de que todos los años prepare una ruta para poner nuestro propio Belén.

Our dear friend César loves the Christmas Season more than any other person I know, that is why he always prepares a route to set up our own Nativity Scene.

Este año nos reunimos con Ignacio, Enrique, Tere, Chusín y por supuesto César y Daniel. Después nos fuimos a Folledo donde nuestro anfitrión había planeado poner el Belén.

This year we gathered with Ignacio, Enrique, Tere, Chusín and, of course, César and Daniel. Then we headed to Folledo where our host had planned to place the Nativity Scene

Tras un corto paseo por el pueblo, nos fuimos a un área recreativa cercana para comer.

After a short walk through the small village, we went to a nearby recreation area for lunch

Comimos, reímos y lo pasamos de maravilla y finalmente colocamos el Belén en un lugar apartado donde esperamos que siga por mucho tiempo.

We ate, we laugh and we had a great time. and finally we put the Nativity Scene in a secluded spot where we hope it will remain for long

Nos tomamos el café en Pajares donde nos despedimos de nuestros amigos y pusimos punto final al año motero 2016.

And we had our nice cup of coffee in Pajares, where we said goodbye to our friends and we put an end to the 2016 motorcycle year.

Deberíamos hacer una ruta de belenes enlazando los que ya hemos colocado.

We might do a route connecting all the Nativity Scenes we have already placed in different spots.

DÍA DE NAVIDAD 25/12/2016 CHRISTMAS DAY

El día de Navidad es el día perfecto para visitar a la madre de Cristo. Para nosotros es una especie de tradición visitar Covadonga el día de Navidad.

Christmas day is the perfect day to visit the christ's mother. For us, it is kind of a tradition going to Covadonga every Christmas Day.

Hoy queremos probar un nuevo equipamiento. Una funda de invierno para Slow. Funciona perfectamente.

Today we want to test a new outfit. A winter cover for Slow. It works perfectly.

Durante la Navidad hay una muestra de belenes expuesta en Covadonga. Vienen de muchos paises diferentes.

During Christmas Season there are some Nativity Scenes shown at Covadonga. They come from many different countries.

De camino a casa paramos en Villaviciosa donde tienen, en mi opinión, la decoración navideña más bonita de Asturias.

In our way back home, we stopped at Villaviciosa where they have, in my opinion, the most beautiful Christmas decoration in Asturias.

Slow, por supuesto, está de acuerdo conmigo y quiere su foto navideña ;)

BELENES DE OVIEDO Y POLA DE SIERO 10/12/2016 OVIEDO AND POLA DE SIERO NATIVITY SCENES

Continuamos con nuestras visitas a belenes pero ya que los que visitaremos hoy están muy cerca de Gijón daremos un largo rodeo

Today we will continue with our Nativity Scenes tour but because the ones we are going to visit today are very closely to Gijón were we live, we will do a long detour

Paramos en el Castillo de San Cucao también llamado la Casa de Valdés. Tiene origenes medievales pero lo que vemos hoy es del siglo XIX. Es una casa particular así que miramos desde lejos.

We stopped at San Cucao Castle also called Valdés' House. It has Medievals origins but what you can see nowadays is from the XIX Century. It is a private house so we only peeped from the distance

Ahora estamos en Oviedo la capital de la provincia. Visitamos un interesante monumento civil. La Fuente de Foncalada un bello exponente del Arte Prerrománico (Siglo IX)

Now we are in Oviedo the capital of the province. We paid a visit to an interesting civil monument The Foncalada Fountain a beautiful exponent of the Prerromanic Art (IX Century)

También vimos la catedral gótica (Siglo XII)

We saw the Gothic Cathedral (XII Century) as well

Pero el objetivo de nuestra visita es el Belén de la Plaza de Trascorrales. Enrique y Tere nos hablaron de él.

But our visit today is aimed to admire the Nativity Scene in the Trascorrales Square. Enrique and Tere told us about it.

Es en mi opinión el que tiene las figuras más detalladas y está expuesto en un precioso edificio, un antiguo mercado de pescado.

It is in my opinión the one with the more detailed figures and it is showed in a beautiful building, an old fish market

El tamaño y belleza de las piezas es notorio.

The size and beauty of the figures are remarkable

Aún tenemos tiempo antes de volver a casa así que nos dirigimos a Pola de Siero para admirar otro Belén interesante.

We have more time before return home so we went to Pola de Siero to admire another very interesting Nativity Scene

Este es permanente, muy grande y muy elaborado.

El sacerdote que lo construyó trató de representar Tierra Santa y los lugares que visitó durante su vida.

The priest who did it intended to recreate the Holy Land and the places he visited during his life

Tiene una característica peculiar, utiliza espejos para conseguir la impresión de profundidad.

It has a very peculiar feature, it uses mirrors very wisely doing so they got the impression of profundity

Fue un buen día de moto con los amigos.

It was a great day with the bikes and friends.
