SORPRENDENTE FEBRERO. FEBRERO 2020. AMAZING FEBRUARY

 Febrero no suele ser un buen mes para el motociclismo en esta parte del mundo, pero este año logramos hacer tres hermosas rutas. Primero, visitamos a nuestros amigos y, para llegar allí, elegimos el camino más largo, por supuesto.

February isn't usually a good month for motorcycling in this part of the world but this year we manage to accomplish three lovely routes. First, we pay a visit to our friends, and to get there we chose the longest way of course.

Comer en este lugar solitario y apartado es ya una tradición.

Having our sandwiches in this lonely and secluded place is something of a tradition.

Descubrimos una nueva característica en el aparcamiento. Se está instalando un nuevo cargador de vehículos eléctricos.

We discovered a new feature in the car park. A new electric vehicles recharger being installed.

 La segunda ruta fue una de las grandes. Una cosa típica aquí es salir de la provincia a través de un puerto de montaña y regresar por otro.

The second route was one of the big ones. A typical thing for motorcyclists here is getting out of the province through a mountain pass and returning taking another one.

Elegimos Somiedo como puerta de salida.

We chose Somiedo as the exit gate

 Y Ventana como entrada

And Ventana as the entrance

 Finalmente, nuestra tercera ruta paralela a la costa en dirección oeste hacia Luarca, donde reservamos una hermosa mesa para el almuerzo.

Finally our third route parallel to the coastline heading west to Luarca where we reserved a lovely table for lunch.

 Luego a Castropol para tomar un café junto al mar

Then to Castropol for a coffee by the sea

 Como dije, un febrero increíble.

PROBANDO LA MOTO 26,27/08/2017 TESTING THE BIKE

Tras una estancia de quince días en el garaje para una muy necesaria reparación la Honda se merecía un finde completo de rutas.

After a fifteen days long stay in the garage for a very needed repair the Honda deserved a full weekend of routes

El sábado nos acompañó nuestro amigo Miguel

On Saturday our friend Miguel came with us

Sandra quiso mostrarle dos de nuestros lugares favoritos. Primero nos fuimos a Santa Justa.

Sandra decided to show him two of our favourite places. First, we went to Santa Justa

Tras eso nos dirigimos a los acantilados de Cóbreces

And after that, we headed to the Cóbreces' cliffs

Allí admiramos el estupendo molino

There we admired the beautiful water mill

El domingo nos reunimos con nuestros amigos Polo, Enrique y Tere.

On Sunday we gather with our friends Polo, Enrique y Tere

Nos fuimos a Figueras

We set off to Figueras

donde pudimos dar un vistazo al palacio de Tremor

where we got a glimpse of the Tremor Palace

Después nos dirigimos a As Veigas, Taramundi.

After that, we left for As Veigas, Taramundi

Un curioso pueblo enteramente dedicado al turismo rural

An amazing little village entirely dedicated to rural tourism

Resumiendo 800 kilómetros para asegurarnos que la reparación fue correctamente efectuada.. y si, lo fue ;)

Summarizing, 800 kilometres to determine whether the repair was properly done.. and yes, it was ;)

CASCADA DEL CIOYO 20/08/2016 CIOYO FALL

Hace tiempo que queríamos visitar este lugar. Se trata de una preciosa cascada en Castropol

I have been longing to visit this place for years. It is a beautiful waterfall in Castropol.

Pero no es fácil de encontrar.. primero debes llegar a este viejo edificio (antigua escuela), 400 metros carretera arriba encontrarás el camino que te llevará a la cascada.

But it is not easy to find the place.. first, you must find these old building (an abandoned school), about 400 metres up the road you will find the start of the path which is going to lead you to the fall

Como suele ser habitual, toda cascada tiene su cuento de hadas.

As usual, every fall has its own fairy tale

Ahora el lugar está bien señalizado por lo que no te perderás

Now the place is best signalled and you aren't going to end missed

Debo decir que el camino es muy empinado en algunos tramos.. Hay una cuerda que te ayudará

I should mention that the path is, in some places, very steep.. There is a rope which will help you.

Tras un corto, pero no sencillo paseo, llegarás al lugar.

After a short, but not easy hike, you will finally reach the spot

Y seguro que dirás: "mereció la pena"

And, for sure, you will say: "it was worth it"

Por desgracia queda lo peor, ahora hay que escalar todo el camino hasta las motos.

Unfortunately, now you will confront the worst part... you must climb up all the path to the bikes..

Como nota final decir que si tienes dificultades para caminar o no estas en forma, este no es un lugar que te convenga
Y así finalmente conocimos la cascada del Cioyo y disfrutamos del día.

As a final note, I should say that if you have difficulties to walk or you are in bad shape, this is not your place.
And so, we finally met the place and enjoyed the day.
